What is the "Living in Germany" test?

The Test Living in Germany (LiD) is a nationwide exam that tests your knowledge about Politics, history, legal system and society tested in Germany. The test consists of 33 multiple-choice questions from an official question bank. Additionally, each exam contains 3 state-specific questions for Baden-Württemberg.

The LiD is an important component of the orientation course and is often used for the naturalization and for the residence permit needed.

How does the "Living in Germany" test work?

The exam will not from tricos evaluated. The execution and evaluation are carried out exclusively by the BAMF.

• 33 questions, 30 of which are nationwide + 3 for Baden-Württemberg
• Exam duration: approx. 60 minutes
• Pass with at least 15 correct answers

Certificates and results are sent directly by the BAMF.
