DTZ exams

The German Test for Immigrants (DTZ) is the official final exam of the integration course and certifies German language skills at the [level not specified]. A2 or B1 of the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR). At tricos Bildung & Coaching you can take the DTZ at our locations in Stuttgart, Heilbronn, Esslingen, Waiblingen and Ludwigsburg We are a course provider funded by the Federal Ministry of the Interior and will guide you safely on your path to long-term integration in Germany.

What is the DTZ?

The German test for immigrants is a state-recognized language test administered at the end of the integration course. It assesses your skills in the following areas:

• To read
• Hear
• Write
• Speak

The DTZ test proves that you can communicate sufficiently in German in everyday life, with authorities, and in social situations. A result on B1 fulfills important requirements for:

• residence permit
• Naturalization (usually together with the LiD test)
• professional and private integration in Germany

Integration course & DTZ

The Standard integration course consists of:

• 600 teaching units language course – targeted preparation for the DTZ
• 100 teaching units orientation course – Knowledge about society, state, rights and everyday life in Germany

At the end of the integration course, all participants complete the DTZ exam from, followed by Orientation course final test (LiD).

Requirements for participation in the DTZ

You can participate if you have attended at least one course module in an integration course.

Important: People without participation in the integration course are not allowed to participate nationwide. not to be admitted to the DTZ.
